Question Hour: State Medical Council to be made functional soon: Phungzathang

Health and Family Welfare Minister Phungzathang Tonsing has said that the State Medical Council has been approved by the Centre and it would be made functional soon.
He was replying to a query raised by MLA Dr Ng Bijoy during Question Hour of the ongoing 5th Session of 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly today.
While asking some supplementary questions, MLA Bijoy suggested that an ad-hoc committee and a registrar must be appointed for the proposed State Medical Council.
Answering to a question asked by MLA Th Shyamkumar regarding one accused Irom Chaoba of Thoubal Leishangthem in the murder case of Kumari Asheibam Rajeshwari alias Inao of Andro Chingdon Leikai, Home Minister Gaikhangam stated that the case is in good progress but the charge-sheet is yet to be filed by the police.
Replying to MLA Joykishan's question, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai said that 20 Anganwadi Centres have been constructed at Thangmeiband Constituency during the fourth phase and the required funds have also been sanctioned.
Further answering to MLA Kunjo's query, Minister AK Mirabai stated that there are 128 Anganwadi Centres at Hiyanglam Constituency.
Out of those 128 centres, construction of 67 centres has been approved while construction of 58 centres has already been completed.
Replying to MLA Nunghlung Victor's question, Health Minister Phungzathang Tonsing said that the 50-bedded hospital at Chandel District Headquarters would be completed by December 31, 2014 next year.
Answering to MLA I Ibohalbi's question, Chief Minister Okram Ibobi, who is also in-charge of MAHUD, said that the proposal for upgradation of Nagar Panchayats into Municipal Councils is still under consideration of the State government.
