Peace convention held

Imphal, July 15 2018:
A peace convention was organised by the Sajik Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (South) on July 13.The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by various intellectual think tanks of the Kana Valley.
Various issues relating to peace, development and prosperity for the area were discussed.
The representatives from almost 20 villages highlighted their daily challenges and expressed their concern on lack of development due to geographical isolation of the area and the insurgent activities.
A press release issued by IGAR South stated that the bold message to the valley based insurgent groups active in the area is loud and clear while stating that the population needs peace and prosperity and not bloodshed.
During the course of the discussion, the learned members of the Village Churches urged the misguided youth to shun the path of violence and return to the main stream to become useful members in nation building.
The close coordination between Assam Rifles and the locals is adding momentum towards common goal of achieving long lasting peace in Sajik Valley.
A total of 49 representatives from different villages attended the convention and expressed their gratitude towards the Battalion for organizing such a meaningful event and assured their full support and active participation in all the endeavour undertaken by the AR for the development of the area.
