Rules laid for ritual functions

The Manipuri Nat Kanba Lup, while coming up with certain prescribed rules to be followed during ritualistic functions connected with Manipuri society, has categorically stated that no false sermons could be recited during any ritual functions from October 1 next.
Addressing media persons at the office of All Manipur Arts and Culture Students Union (AMACSU) here today, Wareppa Naba, spokesperson of Manipuri Nat Kanba Lup, stated that all cultural and religious ceremonies performed for a person right from the day of birth till the end of life should be performed in the right manner without any false sermons being recited.
The rules and regulations put up by the Pena Loishang or Sanamahi Temple Board should be followed while performing the religious and cultural ceremonies in Meetei traditional form.
For those religious and cultural functions related with Nat Sankirtan and Manohar Sai, the rules prescribed by the Pala Loishang of Govinda should be followed strictly from October 1 .
All those going against the decision of the organization will have to face certain penalties in accordance to the customary law of the land.
The Manipuri Nat Kanba Lup is a conglomeration of seven different organizations/associations of the State namely All Manipur Arts and Culture Students Union, Manipur Nat Sankirtan Apunba, Manipur State Shumang Leela Council, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy Students Union, Apunba Manipuri Matam Eshei Kanglup, Manohar Sai Ashram and Theatre Centre Manipur.
