To ensure food security for Manipur as an import of rice and crops are likely to be minimal due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Loumee Shinmee Apun-Lup (LOUSAL) has made a list of demands to the State Government.
A press release issued by LOUSAL demanded the Government to initiate all possible steps to ensure that all fields get enough water for irrigation; provide modern tool /machine and tractor for effective farming; make seeds of high yielding crops available to the farmers; focus on making it easy for farmers to avail loan and establish cold storage unit for the farmers to store perishable fruits and vegetables at a minimal rate among others.
