Workshop on traditional hear gear begins

Imphal, October 01 2013:
Tribal Museum and Research Centre (TMRC) along with Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangralaya (IGRMS), Bhopal kick-started a ten-day long workshop on traditional head-gear and head-dress of Manipur at TMRC, Sagolband Akham Leikai here from today.
Presiding over the inaugural function, L.Birendrakumar, Musicologist and Sangeet Natak Academy awardee, said that culture and civilization are very closely related as culture identifies the people and civilization shows them where the people belong.

He also said that it is high time for the people to identify and trace their indigenous tools and origin and find out all about the past.
He said, "We alone should look after our own culture and try to develop it.
He also urged the need to protect our food and ethnic culture" .
