CADA confiscates liquor in different locations

The Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA), Kakching District Committee, Lamjao Apunba Meira Paibi and Lamjao Part I Development Association seized 70 lts of DIC liquor yesterday during a drive conducted by the team at Lamjao Mayai Leikai.
However, the person who brought in the liquor fled from the area and as such the person's identity remains unknown.
The seized alcohol was disposed by off by the team.
In a separate incident, CADA Jiribam District Committee confiscated around 100 litres of local made liquor today from an auto rickshaw at Kalinagar at around 8 am today.
Regarding the seizure of the huge quantity of liquor, president of the district committee, Th Ratan maintained that the manufacturing, selling of liquor at villages in the name of tradition and indulging in such business at the time when the district in particular is hard pressed due to COVID-19 outbreak, was appalling.
He also stated that concerned authorities will be approached to take up stringent measures against all involved in the business.
It is better to destroy or dispose of the liquor before it ruins the lives of many, he continued while saying that the district committee will join hands with other CSOs to impose a strict ban on the sale of liquor in the district.
