4th Children Film Festival commences

Imphal, January 31 2013:
The 4th Children Film Festival, which is being organized jointly by Manipur Film Development Corporation (MFDC) and Children Film Society of India commenced from today at the auditorium of MFDC, Palace Compound here.
The inaugural function of the 3-day long festival wherein seven films would be screened, was graced by RK Nimai, Commissioner of Art and Culture, Government of Manipur; Dr K Sobita, Managing Director of MFDC and RK Bidur, film critic as Chief Guest, President and Guest of Honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, RK Nimai stated that the film festival has been organized with the main objective to create a sort of recreation for children of the State, which otherwise is filled with occurrence of crimes on daily basis.
From next year, the festival would be organized in different parts of the State to give the children living in other parts to enjoy the festival as well, he informed.
Pari, a film by Aribam Shyam, was screened on the first day of the festival.
Three English films namely Touching Wild Horses, Sunshine Barry and Disco Worms and The Prince and the Crown of Stone will be screened tomorrow.
