Thoubal, December 30 2017:
The five-days training programme for ASHAs and three days training for ANMs on "Population based screening of non-communicable diseases" NCD Cell Thoubal and District Health Society, Thoubal, under the aegis of National Programme for Prevention of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS) concluded today.
The training programme aims to sensitize the ASHAs and ANMs regarding the numerous non-communicable diseases.
The closing ceremony was attended by Chief Medical Officer, Thoubal Dr l Jayentakumar, District programme manager of National Health Mission, Thoubal Ch Basanta, Heirok CHC Dr Nokul and MO in charge PHC, Wangjing Dr Jahanggir as dignitaries.
Certificates were distributed to the trainees, reports our correspondent.
Speaking on the occasion, CMO Dr L Jayentakumar stated that numerous NCDs have been emerged with the change in time.
However, the State Government has launched different medical schemes to combat such diseases.
He stated that the district hospital, Thoubal has now the facility to screen NCDs.
He urged the ASHAs and ANMs to work diligently for the welfare of the public.
