Imphal, November 27 2020:
Federation of Government College Teachers' Association (FEGOCTA) has again raised the demand for 7th UGC Pay and added that an order to this effect must be issued by the Education Minister.
FEGOCTA questioned why the Higher Education Department has failed to send the file to the Finance Department even after 109 days of the Cabinet approval and why they were not honouring the decision of the Cabinet led by the Chief Minister.
They also said that college teachers in other States and employees of other departments in Manipur are already enjoying 7th Pay.
In a statement FEGOCTA also appealed to the authority concerned to provide facilities of hand washing, strict enforcement of no entry without masks, 50% rotation among the teachers to maintain social distancing, etc.
in view of the rising COVID-19 cases amongst the college teachers and non-teaching staff.
