Cycle rally taken out against drug abuse

Imphal, June 27 2017:
Sugnu Police, Sugnu Municipality Council and youth clubs of Sugnu organised a cycle rally under the guidance of SP, Kakching on the occasion of UN International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking yesterday.
The rally was flagged off by chairperson of SMC M Sarat and SDPO Sugnu, A Romendro from Sugnu Bazar.
From there it proceeded to Sugnu, Wangoo, Kakching, Waikhong, Lanmeidong, Wabagai among other places during its 60 kilometre course and culminated at Ching Tam Community Hall.
Lok Sabha MP Thangso Baite hosted a short reception for the cyclists at Kackhing Khunou Lamkhai
and made a donation of Rs 4000 .
Councillors of Sugnu Municipal Council, and members of block development committees attended the flag off ceremony.
Meanwhile, District Social Welfare Office, Chandel observed International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at a function held at Indoor Stadium in Chandel yesterday.
Member of Chandel Autonomous District Council, KT Harina was the chief guest while DSW officer L Thangkolun Kuki was the functional president.
The essay competition which was a main highlight of the observation was won by D Khiwar Sinruwngna of St Peter Higher Secondary School while his schoolmate DB Maria and Langhu Ambrose Anal of Anallon Christian Institute claimed third position.
The second position went to HB Tampangam of Lifeway Christain Academy.
