DG, BSF visits Manipur, Nagaland

The Director General, Border Security Force, VK Johri along with Addl DG (Eastern Command) BSF Sanjeev Kumar and IG M&C Dr PK Roushan visited Manipur and Nagaland on January 23 to take stock of the operational preparedness and to show the DG's solidarity to the troops of BSF deployed in the two States.
Addressing a Sainik Samelan at Sector HQs BSF Koirengei today, he promised welfare measures for the troops while advising Commanders and troops to remain alert and to take care of their health through regular yoga and exercise.
President of BWWA (BSF Wives' Welfare Association) Anupma Johri hosted different programs at different BSF locations to motivate the families of BSF soldiers.
The DG BSF and his high level team left Imphal today.
VK Johri had earlier visited a training centre at CCpur to witness various training activities and urged to keep up with the fast changing trends of modus operandi of the ANEs across the country.
Later on the same day, he visited Kohima in the evening and interacted with the officers and troops of 93 Battalion BSF.
He called on the Chief Minister of Nagaland Neiphiu Rio and Governor of Nagaland and discussed the prevailing situation in the State.
The DG along with his high level team reached 111 Bn BSF HQ at Satakha, Zunheboto district of Nagaland and interacted with the officers and troops of the unit.
He also interacted with the ex- RGN members at Satakha.
He also visited 113 Bn BSF HQs at Loktak and interacted with the officers and troops of Bn.
He met Chief Minister N Biren and the Governor Dr Najma Heptulla apart from meeting the DGP of Manipur L M Khaute to discuss the present situation in the State at length.
