Two day residential prog concludes

FXB India Suraksha, as part of its project Mukti, organized a two day residential training programme titled "Awakening'' for children of different schools across Imphal East and Imphal West today.
The programme was organised on issues related to child protection and safety, at Youth Hostel, Khuman Lampak, Imphal on December 23 .
63 students took part at the two day residential training programme, said a press release issued by project officer, FXB India Suraksha Imphal.
The programme was conducted as part of project Mukti-an Anti Trafficking initiative to combat human trafficking and child sexual abuse in Manipur and implemented with the support of ECPAT Luxembourg since 2015 in Imphal and Ukhrul districts.
It claimed that through the project, more than 10,000 school students were sensitised while more than 15,000 boys and girls trained and above 30 adolescent clubs were formed.
M Premchandra, ZEO, Zone II, who inaugurated the training programme said that the residential training will benefit the students and the targeted audience effectively.
The two day training programme was facilitated by Sunil Meitei, Project Officer, Imphal, FXB India Suraksha, Wungreiso A Sangh, Project Officer, Ukhrul, FXB India Suraksha and Grace Jajo.
The participants were trained on the basics of child protection and safety in which they were told about the roles and responsibilities that families, communities, institutions and Nation in creating a safe place for children to lead their life in dignity.
The participants were informed about different forms of abuse, how to identify, preventive measures and redressal mechanisms available, it said.
The children were given group work to showcase their thoughts on how to bring change as child ambassadors and the initiatives they wanted to take up in their respective schools regarding trafficking and child
sexual abuse.
