Torrential rain damages crops

Senapati, July 24 2020:
The Ngatan Village Authority, in a statement, has reported massive damage of standing paddy crops adjacent to the Ithoi river on July 23 due to torrential rain.
The paddy fields were destroyed after a heavy rain which caused muddy flooding and deposited a large amount of mud, sands, woods, plants materials at five different areas namely Takjining, Tihlajang, Vailuri, Loipajaining and Vuhrining.
The village authority members and farmers jointly visited and witnessed the extensive damage caused by these natural calamities.
Approximately 5-6 hectare of paddy fields were affected by the calamity.
The villagers requested the officials and department concerned to inspect the affected fields and also provide immediate needs to repair and rebuild the agriculture fields.
