Imphal, May 22 2015 :
The State Government's failure to check incursion at Dzuko Valley has received wide criticism from the people in the last few days.
A State wide 24 hour general strike has also been imposed by the Koziirii-Dzuko Land Boundary Resolution (CKDLBR) with effect from the midnight of May 22 demanding deployment of security forces along the border to curb the incursion.
Meidingu Leishemba Sanajaoba, during an exclusive interview with The Sangai Express, has expressed disappointment with the lame alibis of the State Government.
He said the Government's decision to take up the issue with the Centre rather than with their Nagaland counterpart reveals the incapability of the ruling Government.
The construction of road within the territory of Manipur at the instruction of the Nagaland Government under the Integrated Rural
Tourism and Road Development Authority and the diversion of a river course towards Nagaland is a blatant act of challenging the territorial integrity of the State.
The Chief Minister on Friday said that the issue would be taken up after the ADC election and after proper demarcation of the land.
Sanajaoba slammed the decision stating that procastination would only escalate the problem.
"The competent authorities should have inspected the area of concern when the matter came up freshly.
We could've gained much respect from our neighbouring States that way.
At this rate though, we are bound to lose major portions of our land soon," Sanajaoba stated.
The State Government must act in accordance with the sentiments of the people, Sanajaoba added.
The titular king has further appealed to the State Government to take up necessary actions and solve the issue at the earliest.
