Imphal, February 21 2015 :
A snake entered the house of one Maibam Julesh in Lilong Chajing on February 18 .
"The mysterious snake could make its body large and small at its wish", a member of the family claimed.
Family members and neighbours who were in fear and confusion offered prayer, flower, rice and milk to the snake.
The uninvited guest refused to leave the house in spite of numerous attempts.
As a last resort, the family members informed People for Animal (PFA) Manipur to get the snake as they did not want to kill the 4 feet long snake considering it to be sacred.
PFA rescue team immediately rushed to the spot and found an adult Copper headed Trinket, said a press release issued by L Biswajeet Meitei, the Managing Trustee of People for Animals, Manipur.
Copper headed Trinket could inflate its body to frighten enemies in addition to its unusual pattern on its skin.
The snake could crawl by lower part of its body while erecting its upper part into a 'S' shape.
This fast and hyper active snake is non venomous.
Now the snake is at PFA shelter preparing for relocation, said PFA.
Meanwhile, one Lourembam Rabichandra of Khekman Wangmataba Mayai Leikai handed over an owl to PFA on Thursday.
He saved the owl by buying it from a hunter.
It was released on Friday day.
In another incident, one Ningthoujam Mangijao of Chanam Santrok Makha Leikai handed over a juvenile Bengal Monitor lizard.
The lizard was very weak which was indicative of prolong captivation, said the PFA release.
