17 AR organises medical camp, talks on career guidance

Ukhrul, November 17 2012:
A free medical checkup cum career guidance programme was organized at Ukhrul town by the 17 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 10 Sector AR at Ukhrul COB on Saturday.
In a press communiqu� issued today, the Assam Rifles stated the daylong programme was attended by a large number of villagers from Ukhrul and many other adjoining villages to avail the free checkup and were given medicines by the medical team headed by the AR Medical Officer of 17 Assam Rifles.
As many as 200 villagers with varying ailments including body ache, fever, cough and headache were diagnosed during the free medical camp.
The patients included women, children and aged persons.
Later, a career guidance session was conducted with an officer of 17 Assam Rifles delivering a lecture-cum-presentation with specific emphasis on "Career in Defence Forces' to motivate and encourage the students of various schools of Ukhrul to take up career in the defence services.
The speaker also encouraged and motivated the children to choose from the plethora of career options available in today's world.
Altogether, a number of 130 students attended the programme from various schools in Ukhrul town.
Meanwhile, the villagers and students expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles authorities for organizing the programme.
