Preshow exhorts youths

MLA of Chingai Assembly Constituency M K Preshow Shimray has expressed concern over lack of interest among Tangkhul youths about the culture and tradition if their forefathers and observed that 'peace could not prevail among us until and unless we understand the values and follow the culture and tradition of our forefathers' .
The MLA was speaking at the inaugural function of 51st general conference cum sports meet organized by Raphei Katamnao Long at Kalhang Village under Chingai AC as Chief Guest yesterday.
He observed that with increasing number of youths staying outside the state for educational and other purposes, they could not understand the values of aged old Tangkhul culture and tradition anymore.
He opined that all Tangkhul youths should come back after study and find jobs in Manipur so that they could contribute their mite towards development of their respective native places.
Urging youths to get themselves involved in the changing trend of science and technology, Shimray, however, cautioned that sophisticated electronic gadgets have the capacity to pollute one's morale and so it has to be used very carefully.
The MLA also distributed gifts to 42 village headmen at the occasion.
