Chandel, October 16 2019:
Concerned Citizens' Forum expressed concerned with the recent development and vulnerable situations in the State which is very unfortunate and appeal to the people of Manipur to maintain calm and restraint to avoid any untoward incident, said a statement released by the Forum.
The Forum further appeal to the leaders and the organizations of the State to take care of the situation wisely and cautiously so that the hard earned peace and harmony is not disturbed at any cost while adding that every citizen of the State must realize that Manipur is home to different communities and all communities must respect the sentiments of one another.
"Let us learn to adjust and live together in peace.
We have had enough of communal politics and tensions at the cost of peace and development.
Let us always keep in mind that disunity, confrontations and hostilities among ourselves renders us in the wrong light and wrong situation in the larger scheme of politics", it added.
The Forum hope that the Govt will take up impartial, judicious and corrective steps with a strong political will to prevent the evil of communalism rearing its ugly head again and urged all to learn lessons from the past and realise that peace and development are the two sides of the same coin.
The Forum wished the people of Manipur a 'Happy Shirui Lily Festival 2019' and 'Happy Centenary Commemoration of Anglo-Kuki War 1917-19' .
