NAB, police nab seven peddlers, recover drugs

Imphal, September 15 2021:
Teams of NAB police station and district police arrested at-least seven persons and recovered drugs including opium, heroin and WY tablets from various locations in the last few days.
According to reports, a combined team of NAB Police and Kakching Police including women personnel nabbed two female drug peddlers along with 5.684 kg of opium from Sugnu Bazar around 5:13 pm on September 13.The arrested individuals have been identified as Lheineikim Haokip (28) w/o Khupminlal Haokip of Theijon village, Chandel currently residing at Gamlem village in Kakching district and Kimneilhing Khongsai (41) w/o Lunsei Khongsai of Joupi village Chandel currently residing at Guthol Home located in Kakching district.
Upon questioning the duo, they revealed that they have been smuggling opium for some time, selling the drug for Rs 1 lakh per packet at Sugnu Bazar.
On the other hand, on the same day another team of NAB PS nabbed one smuggler along with 1.172 kg of WY tablets from North AOC around 9:10 pm.
The arrested person has been identified as Taj Khan (20) s/o Gulab Hussain from Urup Khunou.
He revealed that he was on his way Dimapur to hand over the drug consignment to his relatives living in West Bengal.
Similarly, teams of NAB PS nabbed one person along with 12 gram of heroin packed in 45 soap cases concealed under charcoal bags in a diesel auto (MN04D-6095) near Pallel Junction on Tuesday around 4 pm.
The arrested person has been identified as Leivon David (49) from s/o (L) Rangmeichung alias Achung of Aimol Khunjai, Tengnoupal district.
A case has been registered at NAB PS, the report said.
On the other hand, a combined team of NAB PS and Kakching Police on Tuesday nabbed three individuals travelling in a Fortuner SUV (MN06L/3270) and recovered 715 gram of heroin at Pallel on Tuesday around 4 pm.
A police statement identified the arrested individuals as Lingunmang Kipgen (23) s/o Henkhomang Kipgen of B Vengnuom village Churachandpur, Paolensem Haokip (23) s/o Khailam Haokip of Tuibong Khopineng village Churachandpur and Haokholal Haokip (27) s/o (L) Hingkhojang Haokip of Pallel.
