Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur (ZSUM) has warned of imposing chaka bandh along NH 53 on September 20 and 21 if the government fails to fulfill its demand of causing suspension of two officials of the PWD, Tamenglong within five days from now.
A statement issued by state secretary of ZSUM, Chunthuigai Kamei expressed shock over the government's failure to cause the suspension of two officials of the PWD Tamenglong including the EE and SO who fail to attend their respective offices for around eight months now.
It lamented that no action has been taken by the government despite representatives of the students' body having submitted a memorandum and a talk with the CM, Works Minister and the local MLAs.
The statement warned to impose chaka bandh along NH 53 on September 20 and 21 if the demand of the students' body is not fulfilled within five days.
It added that the students' body will continue to resort to democratic forms of agitation if the demands are not met after two days of the bandh.
