Imphal, April 15 2018:
The Indian education system is basically about indoctrination of the propaganda that Indians are superior to the people of Kangleipak in all respect and forced inculcation of the Indian values which are totally foreign to the indigenous people, said the statement Even though students of Kangleipak are taught classic Indian literature, Indian philosophy, Indian freedom struggle, they are never taught their own philosophy, world view, folk wisdom, history, geography et al.
This policy is driven by a hidden agenda to Indianise Kangleipak, it alleged.
To expose this sinister agenda to the younger generations would be one landmark step in the struggle for decolonisation.
"It is crucial to decolonise our minds first.
However, it appears that colonisation of our minds has been completed and we no longer feel ashamed to be Indians", Laba said.
Today some leaders have the audacity to claim that Manipur had been a part of India since the Dwapur age and many people are inclined to adopt Hindutva as the only way of life.
This is a result of the decades of 'mind colonisation' process strategised by the Government of India, alleged the KCP leader.
The Government of India has been consistently conspiring to project culture, tradition and world view of the people of Kangleipak as inferior or primitive thereby robbing the people's pride in their own value systems.
Once the indigenous people's cultural memory is erased, Indian socio-cultural values would replace them sooner rather than later.
This is one formidable obstacle on the path of political decolonisation of Kangleipak.
Decolonisation of mind of the masses and the revolutionary groups must precede political decolonisation of Kangleipak, Laba added.
