I-Day greetings

Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has conveyed her heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Independence Day.
In her message, Dr Najma said that the 15th day of August every year is celebrated as Independence Day to mark the occasion of the country gaining freedom in 1947 .
Stating that India has made great strides in all fields after independence and is aiming to be in the comity of leading Nations of the world, the Governor urged all to work together and ensure that every part of the country is developed equally so that there is no sense of discrimination.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also greeted the people of Manipur on the occasion of the 73rd Independence Day of India.
Despite being set free of the rule of the British imperialists, our country is yet to be completely free of the chains of communalism, regionalism, linguism, gender disparity etc, said the CM and appealed all to fight these thoughts and practices, wherever they are and whatever form they take.
Manipur Legislative, Speaker Yumnam Khemchand also wished the people of Manipur on the occasion.
Y Khemchand appealed all to take motivation from the lives and sacrifices of the freedom fighters and work for ensuring peace, progress and prosperity in the State and the country.
Social Welfare Minister, Nemcha Kipgen also extended her best wishes to all Indians on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day of India.
"On this auspicious day, let us all pledge ourselves to rededicate towards Nation building", Nemcha lamented.
While extending his greetings to the people of Manipur, MAHUD Minister Th Shyamkumar urged all to work as one, in the true spirit of a democratic country to bring about emotional integration and equal development.
Works Minister Th Biswajit too greeted the people of the State on the occasion of Independence Day.
He appealed all to recall and celebrate the bravery of the forefathers and their gift of freedom.
