8-day long All Political Party committee meeting commences

An 8-day long All Political Party Committee meeting aimed at discussing and bring an amicable solution to the long driven issue of Inner Line Permit System (ILPS) in Manipur kick started at the committee's office located at Manipur Legislative Assembly complex, Chingmeirong in Imphal at 3 pm today.
According to sources, the meeting discussed and relied on various suggestions and proposals made by the experts so that the information can be considered for drafting a report which is to be submitted to the state government of Manipur.
The Committee would urge the state government to construct a law based on the draft when forwarded by the Committee so that the indigenous people in the state are protected.
For the implementation of Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Manipur, the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) has been resorting to various forms of agitation.
The Committee has further set November 18 as deadline for the implementation of the Act.
It has also warned of launching stringent forms of agitation if their plea is not heard by the Government.
Chaired by deputy chief minister Gaikhangam, the All Political Parti Committee meeting produced various reports and suggestions given by experts in papers so that their views and proposals could be included.
Before the commencement of the meeting, seat arrangement of the Committee office was also conducted.
The meeting is stated to continue till November 20 .
