MHRC directs Edn (S) Director

The Manipur Human Rights Commission has asked Director of Education (S) to take necessary action in two weeks times to make sure that 21 days food grain for mid day meal of school students are distributed at the door steps of the child concerned through home delivery mode.
The direction was given following a complaint filed by Keisham Pradipkumar of Manipur Alliance for Child Rights.
The complaint was discussed before the Commission today and it was observed that it would be appropriate for the Director, Directorate of Education (S) Government of Manipur to take necessary action to implement the prayer of the complainant.
The Commission also observed that in other States of the country, children who are supposed to be provided food grains have been given their entitled quota through their respective parents and similar mechanisms or any other effective means may be adopted to make sure that no children who are entitled food grain under the midday scheme remain hungry during the lockdown.
The Director, of Education (S) was asked to take necessary action in 2 weeks time.
