Visually challenged Maibam Ranveer awarded

Visually challenged, Maibam Ranveer has been awarded 'Laishram Gouramani Memorial Award' for 2014-2015 .
The Award is given every two years to achievers who are visually challenged.
The award giving programme was organized by 'Welfare Association for the Blind' (WAB), Takyel at Takyel Blind School on Saturday.
WAB has recognized his outstanding achievements.
Maibam Ranveer was born on April 1, 1990 to Maibam Chandra and Maibam Jati of Thangalawai Khongnang Makhong Maning Leikai, Bishnupur District.
He had suffered from 'secondary cataract' on both eyes with permanent visual disability of 75%.But he did his schooling at Takyel Blind School and later passed Secondary Examination from JPM Senior Secondary School for the Blind, New Delhi, graduated from Ramjas College Delhi and has done MA (History) from the same college under Delhi University.
He has also completed the B.Ed from Durgabai Desmukh College under Delhi University.
Maibam Ranveer not only completed his education but has done Basic Course of Foot Reflexology in 2009 under Educational Department of All India Association of Accupressure Reflexology and Computer Training Programme (Basic) from Success Computer Educational Institute, Delhi.
In Sports, he has won 9 Gold Medals and 4 Silvers in Junior National Paralympics Championships in Athletics and IBSA National Sports Meet for Blinds (Senior).
The programme organized by WAB was graced by Minister of Social Welfare & Corporation Manipur, AK Mirabai as the chief guest and Takyel Zila Parishad member A Manimala as the president.
Retd Functional Manager Commerce and Industries Govt of Manipur, Sanasam Birendra along with MJF Lions Club Imphal, M Gojendra and Padmashri Laishram Nabakeshor attended as the guests of honour.
