As a follow up action after the explosion of an IED at around 6 pm on Feb 7, near Indo-Myanmar Border pillar 79 on Myanmar side, a team of Moreh CDO, led by Thomas Thokchom, DSP-CDO Moreh, along with Subedar K Ibungobi Singh, i/c OC CDO/Moreh, under the command of Robinsun Khamnam, Addl SP/Tengnoupal and under the supervision of Dr S Ibomcha Singh, SP/Tengnoupal conducted intensive foot patrolling in the Indo Myanmar border area at around 5.30 pm yesterday.
The team came across a person near sunrise ground who acted suspiciously and tried to flee on seeing the CDO team.
On pursuing the said person, he escaped towards Myanmar side leaving behind a gunny bag.
Upon investigating the bag, a M series Al rifle, 70 live rounds and 3 empty cases were seized at around 6:30 pm.
The items were handed over to Moreh PS for taking further necessary legal procedure.
