Rs 504 crore sanctioned for widening NH 37

The ministry of road transport and highways has approved widening of the Imphal to Jiribam section of NH-37 into two-lane with paved shoulder from 131.280 km to 169.570 km (PKG-6) on EPC mode with a budget outlay of Rs 504.76 crore.
Union minister of road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari posted on Twitter in this regard on Monday night.
Chief minister N Biren retweeted the tweet while thanking the union minister for his continuous support for development of road infrastructure in the state.
"The infrastructure growth in Manipur under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi will be remembered as one of the most progressive eras in Manipur," Biren tweeted.
Mention may be made here that Nitin Gadkari, while inaugurating Makru Bridge and laying foundation stones for 16 NH projects in Imphal in July this year, assured of widening NH 37 to a double-lane.
Consequently, project for widening of NH 37 from 3.275 km to 15.940 km into two-lane paved shoulder was sanctioned at a cost of Rs 38.53 crore for which tender process is underway, During his visit, Nitin Gadkari had conveyed that the Centre is all set to take up 15 NH projects of 298 km with a budget outlay of Rs 4,148 crore in the state under Bharatmala Phase 2.Fund has been earmarked for these projects and works will be executed within a year after comleting DPR in six months, he had assured.
