Law College professor Dr Vareso succumbs to COVID

Tangkhul academician, social thinker and Imphal Law College professor Dr Vareso NK has succumbed to Covid-19 related health complications at JNIMS Hospital on Wednesday.
He was 57 years old.
Dr Vareso NK, who was born at Nambasi Khullen in Kamjong district, left behind his wife Dr Timreiphy and three children.
Saddened by the sudden demise of Dr Vareso, Hill Areas Committee chairman and Phungyar AC MLA Leishiyo Keishing expressed deep condolences and described passing away of the prolific thinker as a huge loss for Manipur, the Tangkhul community in particular.
According to family sources, Dr Vareso was admitted to JNIMS on May 10 and underwent treatment at the Accident & Trauma Causality ward before he succumbed to Covid-19.Meanwhile, Dhanamanju-ri University administration staff, teaching faculties and non-teaching staff of the five constituent colleges namely DM College of Science, DM College of Arts, DM College of Commerce, GP Women's College and LMS Law College, expressed deep sorrow on the sudden demise Dr Vareso Ningshen.
In a press release, DMU vice-chancellor Prof N Ra-jmuhon Singh remembered Dr Vareso as a sincere, serious and laborious teacher.
"He was a member of many committees of the university including Academic Council.
It will be very difficult to fill the vacuum created by his loss," the release continued.
