BJP celebrates Modi's first year in power

Manipur BJP also celebrated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first year in power on Tuesday at the party office here.
Modi Government came to power in May 2014 after BJP swept the national elections.
The completion of one year by the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre was celebrated across the country.
Making a speech on the occasion, State BJP chief Th Chaoba expressed sadness over the reported encroachment upon Manipur's territory in Dzukou valley by people from neighbouring Nagaland.
Chaoba suggested that the State Government should deploy security forces to defend the border now in dispute.
"It's the duty of the Manipur Government to take appropriate steps to protect our boundary.
There are protests everywhere over the encroachment issue.
It's time for the Government to do something," the former MP urged.
He said the State Government needs to make out the actual boundary of Manipur.
BJP national council executive member Tapir Gao, Manipur BJP general secretary Ashinikumar, among others was also present during the function.
On the other hand, Tapir Gao was felicitated during a function held at the residence of N Indrajit in Sabal Leikai in Imphal East.
During the event Th Chaoba expressed confidence that the BJP would win maximum number of seats in the ensuing Autonomous District Council (ADC) slated for June 1 .
He stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is endlessly gaining strength because of the trust and confidence bestowed upon the party by people.
Chaoba charged the O Ibobi headed Congress Government that it has neglected development for the hill districts.
Tapir Gao and Ashinikumar also spoke on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the BJP Uripok Mandal organized a function to mark the completion of one year by the Modi Government at the Mandal office in Lamboi Khongnangkhong.
A host of BJP Uripok Mandal members including its president N Purnachandra attended the event.
