Imphal, September 19 2021:
Keishamthong AC is full of educated people and has undergone significant changes compared to what it was like in the past.
Thus, it would be wrong to think that one can win the election with mere show of money and muscle-power, Republican Party of India (Athawale) Manipur president and candidate aspirant Thounaojam Maheshwar has stated.
He made the statement during the inaugural function of RPI Women Committee office at Keishampat Keisam Leikai here on Sunday morning.
Speaking at the event, Maheshwar noted that not only Keishamthong AC, but the general populace of the state are presently highly educated compared to the past.
They are well aware which candidate will stick by with his/her promises after the polls.
Similarly, the denizens of Keishamthong AC know which candidate is close to them and will serve their best interests.
Thus, the candidate closest to the people is bound to win the election, not the ones who are flexing money and muscle power, he contended.
Maheshwar then recounted that elections in the past used to be chaotic, with frequent instances of quarrelling and mud-slinging acts.
However, such acts should cease in present times to ensure peaceful conduct of the polls.
There will be attempts to derail a young candidate but there is no need for retaliation, he remarked and urged for allowing the people to elect the most sincere candidates in a peaceful manner.
