Manipur, which was once infamous for bandh/blockade, fake encounters, drug menace and insurgency, has undergone a rebirth under the BJP government, which took the state on the path of development, said BJP national president JP Nadda.
Speaking during a one-day farmers' meet organised by BJP Lamlai Mandal at Nongada Kameng playground on Thursday, Nadda contended that the BJP government needs to continue in the state to ensure its further development and maintenance of peace and security.
Under the BJP government, instances of bandh/blockade, fake encounters, drug menace, insurgency and other issues have slowed down considerably, making it seem like as if Manipur has undergone a rebirth and is moving ahead on the path of development.
Nadda continued: "Since BJP took power, the budget for the agriculture sector has increased from Rs 150 crore to Rs 303 crore.
Manipur is now known for its agricultural produces and the farmers are receivmga pension of Rs2000 every three months from the government as well.
BJP will continue to work hard to make Manipur known for its organic farming, in addition to fulfilling all of its promises mentioned in the manifesto.
For this, the people need to ensure the return of the government".
In his speech, CM N Biren declared that if the BJP returns to power, the financial aid under CMHT would be increased from Rs 2 lakh to 5 lakh and for old age pension, from Rs 500 to 1000 .
Apart from this, a Skill Development University would be set up as mentioned in the party manifesto.
He then urged the people of Lamlai to vote for Kh Ibomcha so as to usher in new changes in the constituency.
Rajya Sabha MP Leishem-ba Sanajaoba; BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra; state president A Sharda; Lamlai BJP candidate Kh Ibomcha and other office bearers of the party also attended the function.
