76 pc of patients in Covid hospitals on oxygen support

Amid the rising tide of Covid-19 pandemic, 426 out of 555 Covid patients (76 per cent) admitted in six Covid Hospitals (two government and four private) are on oxygen support.
As per government report released on Saturday evening, RIMS has 128 beds including 12 ICU beds and there are 128 patients admitted in the hospital.
Out of them, nine are on ventilator and 102 on oxygen support.
JNIMS has 132 beds including 19 ICU beds but the public hospital currently has 193 patients including 108 in the Covid ward and another 85 in the casualty ward, with five on ventilator and 154 on oxygen support.
Among the private hospitals, Shi-ja Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) has 140 beds including 44 ICU beds and all the beds are occupied as of Saturday evening while of the 21 patients are on ventilators and 79 are on oxygen support.
Babina Specialty Hospital has 30 beds including five ICU beds.
As of Saturday, there are 29 patients in the hospital with two on ventilator and 21 on oxygen support.
Jivan Hospital Kakching has 22 Covid beds with no ICU beds.
The hospital has 15 patients and seven of them are on oxygen support.
Raj Medicity, having 100 beds including 25 ICU beds, is taking care of 50 patients with nine on ventilator and 21 on oxygen support.
Based on the report, both RIMS and JNIMS hospitals are not in a position to entertain any fresh patient but sources said the latter has been providing treatment by creating space on the flood.
There are 131 beds available in the district hospitals, sub-district hospitals and CHCs of Kakching and Kamjong.
These district facilities have 74 patients admitted and 57 beds are vacant as on Saturday evening.
There are no vacant beds in DH Bishnupur but DH Chandel has eight, DH Churachandpur one, DH Senapati nine, DH Ukhrul eight, SDH Moreh six, CHC Kamjong two while DH Thoubal has one additional patient over the in-take capacity.
DH Ukhrul has highest number of bed capacity with 28 followed by CHC Kakching 24, DH Churachandpur 20 and DH Senapati 15 beds while the remaining have 10 beds each except for CHC Kamjong which has only four beds.
As of Saturday evening, 14 Covid Care Centres (CCCs) are functioning at Bal Bhawan (229 beds), NSU (195), Lamboi Khongnangkhong (600), RD Wing (64), CCC Bishnupur (68), Lanva TD Block CCpur (50), Government College CCPur (60), Jiribam (48), DIET Kangpokpi (72), Tamenglong Higher Secondary School (100), TH Tengkhonjang Noney (40), GNM Hostel Thoubal (100), Kakching Higher Secondary School (50) and Transit Hostel Ukhrul (100) .
These 14 CCCs have 1776 beds of which 682 have been occupied and 1094 are vacant.
At least 20 patients admitted to CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong are on oxygen support, the report said.
