Sitharaman, Rijiju to select state CM

Imphal, March 14 2022:
BJP Parliamentary Board on Monday appointed central observers and co-observers for the election of the legislative party leader in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Manipur.
For Manipur, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has been appointed as observer-and Law and Justice minister Kiren Rijiju as co-observer.
For Uttar Pradesh, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National Vice president Jharkhand ex-CM Raghubar Das have been appointed as observer and co-observer respectively.
Meanwhile, Defence minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs MoS Meenakshi Lekhi have been appointed as observer and co-observer respectively for Uttarakhand; while for Goa, Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Ministry of Fisheries MoS L Murugan have been appointed as observer and co-observer respectively.
On the other hand, although preparation is underway for election of the leader of the legislative party, no information has been provided from BJP office on the exact date of arrival of the observer and co-observer of Manipur.
However, a source conveyed that the central observer and co-observer would be arriving in the state within the next 1-2 days ahead of the formation of the new government on March 16 .
