NPF's Ram Muivah releases vision document

Naga People's Front (NPF) candidate for Ukhrul Assembly Constituency, Ram Muivah has come up with the vision document of his 'Mission Ukhrul'.
Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL) president Veronica Zingkhai officially released the vision document during a function held at Greenland here on Sunday.
The vision document is a follow-up to his poll booklet titled 'Mission Ukhrul - Know Your Candidate' which was released on November 23 last year.
Speaking on the function, the retired administrative officer reiterated his intention to run for the forthcoming state assembly elections, stating that "It is not for my personal gain but solely to serve the public as a way of gratitude to God for all the blessings he has given me in my life ".
Talking about the vision document, Ram Mui-vah said that he has set a three-tier objective to develop Ukhrul district headquarters based on short-term, medium-term and long-term plans respectively.
He said that if he gets elected in the upcoming elections, he would endeavour his level best to fulfil his vision and mission.
According to him, the short-term plan pertain to good governance, development of agriculture and allied sectors and basic infrastructures and utilities including health care, water, road and drainage, power supply, internet and banking facilities.
"It will be my endeavour to eliminate corruption and promote corruption-free administration, public accountability, transparency, rule of law, equality and citizen-centric governance," he explained.
As part of the medium-term plan, the focus is on developing Ukhrul as a tourist destination, he explained and continued that alongside this, his desire is also to seek human resource development in areas like education, skill enhancement and enterprises and sports.
The former NEC secretary also touched upon the long-term plan, stating that he accorded priority to restoration of legitimate rights of the tribals.
"It's also my wish to transform Ukhrul town into a smart city," he said, adding that he has committed to bring back the past glory of Ukhrul district where Christianity and education first started in the state.
He further informed that he wished to construct 4-lane National Highways connecting the district.
During the function, Sacred Heart Church, Hugpung parish priest Rev Fr Mayopam Gabriel administered an act of blessing for him.
The function was attended by CSO leaders, NPF functionaries, party workers and supporters.
