New curbs on shops in Churachandpur

With new cases of Covid-19 swelling by the day, the District Magistrate Churachandpur has further strengthened the prohibitory order it issued earlier, limiting the number of weekly business days for shops to two.
According to a roster that came along with the order, only one in a cluster of three shops would be allowed to open on a day.
The other two would take turns in the next two days with the first shop getting the slot again on the third day.
The new roster would ensure enough gap for every shop permitted to open on the given day.
On Sundays all shops would however be closed.
Employees of the ADC Churachandpur began marking the shops in a cluster immediately after the order was issued on April 30.The following day a team of high ranking police officials from Imphal headed by Clay Khongsai, IGP Zone II visited the district to assess the implementation of the new restrictions and the preparations made in the district to tackle the.
second wave of COVID-19.Though the order stated that the additional curbs were necessitated by the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, it however fell short in mentioning how long the curbs would be implemented.
The previous order issued by the DM CCpur nevertheless mentioned that prohibitory orders under 144 CrPC will be effective until further notifications.
