Govt approves voluntary retirement of Nabakishore

The State Government has approved the voluntary retirement of former Chief Secretary and current Director General of State Academy of Training (SAT), Oinam Nabakishore Singh, from IAS (1984) service from February 28 next year.
An order was issued in this regard by the Under Secretary (DP) on December 19, accepting the voluntary retirement of O Nabakishore under Rule 16 (2) of the All India Service (Death cum Retirement Benefits) Rules, 1985 .
In reality, Nabakishore is to retire from service on November 30 next year at the age of 60 .
It may be mentioned that O Nabakishore is the second Meitei to get selected as an IAS office, 12 years after Falguni Rajkumar (1972).16 years after O Nabakishore, RK Dinesh (2000) is the 3rd Meitei to get selected as an IAS officer.
After RK Dinesh, there has been other Meitei and Meitei Pangal IAS officers.
Following the retirement of former Chief Secretary PC Lawmkunga on September 29, 2015, Nabakishore was appointed as the new Chief Secretary.
However, he was posted as the DG of SAT and in his place, RR Rashmi was appointed as the Chief Secretary on July 6, 2017 .
After RR Rashmi, Dr J Suresh Babu is the current CS of the State Government.
