Imphal, August 29 2015 :
National Socialist Council of Nagaland led by SS Khaplang or the NSCN (K) has refuted the claims of IGAR (N) that "security forces neutralized" seven of the outfit's cadres, including one woman "in an exchange of fire" at Pangsha in Tuensang district of Eastern Nagaland.
At least eight persons were killed and two women sustained injuries in the episode.
Reacting to the incident, NSCN (K)'s Ministry of Information and Publicity (MIP) termed the August 28 incident as "Pangsha massacre" and claimed that the slain cadres were "unarmed NSCN/GPRN members and innocent civilians" .
MIP said that the army will bear testimony before the world for generations to come that the price the "Nagas pay in blood and lives" to defend "sovereign rights" can never be suppressed with martial forces.
NSCN (K) said the sacrifices would only inflame the "patriotic and nationalist spirit" of the Nagas which would never go down in vain.
"Every martyrdom shall replicate itself and Nagas would never be found wanting in men and spirit in the fight to reclaim her birthright", asserted the outfit.
Coming down heavily on "vested Nagas" who chose to become "collaborators and instruments of adversary" to further trample upon the Nagas without any conscience, NSCN (K) said "the worst fate awaits them, such enemy agents shall face judgements and NSCN/GPRN shall leave no stones unturned to prosecute them under anti-national act" .
The MIP statement appealed to the "patriotic Nagas" to uphold the sacrifices of both "NSCN comrades and civilian Nagas" who paid with their precious lives.
Calling on the Nagas to resist the "illegal and forceful subjugation", NSCN (K) said every Naga has a duty to fight for the honour and right of her people.
It may be mentioned that IGAR (N) claimed that the security personnel were carrying out "routine domination of the border area" along the Pangsha town when they saw "one motorcycle, one Gypsy and one Bolero vehicle" approaching along the road.
As the security force patrol asked the motorcycle to halt for checking, there was "intense firing from the Gypsy and Bolero vehicles" which were following behind.
The security forces retaliated and killed seven cadres of NSCN (K) and injured three Over Ground Workers (OGWs).
IGAR (N) claimed that one soldier of security forces was also injured in the firing from NSCN (K) .
