Imphal, November 28 2014 :
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has shown his love for the people of Manipur as well as the state BJP as he has decided to include the party office in his official itinerary to the state on November 30, registering a new record, according to state BJP leaders.
"Modi will be the first Prime Minister of India to include the state party office in his itinerary to Manipur," Chaoba said after overseeing the arrangements made in the party office for Modi's visit.
He said the previous Prime Ministers of the country had never included any state as one of the itineraries of their trips.
Chaoba said the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre has a warm feeling for the North East, adding the people of Manipur have a new hope in the new Government.
"Modi is registering a new record as he is visiting the Manipur BJP office and meeting party leaders," Chaoba said.
Setting up of a sports university for the state is included in the NDA Government's 100-day Programme, Chaoba said, adding the previous Prime Ministers of India had ever thought of establishing such a varsity in Manipur which is dubbed as the 'power house' of Indian sports.
Commenting on the issue concerning establishment of the sports varsity at Yaithibi Loukon, the BJP leader said the state Government should not set up the varsity at a controversial site such as the Yaithibi Loukon.
The sports varsity should be set up either at Koutruk or Moirang Kangjeibung, he demanded.
