Amid the continuing deadlock over the ticket issue, another meeting of the party's Parliamentary Board was reportedly held on Friday.
Despite huge expectations, BJP did not announce the names of its candidates for the upcoming polls on Thursday and as well as on Friday.
According to a source from the BJP's of-fice in New Delhi, the names of intending candidates for some of the constituencies figured in the lists recommended by the state party could not be finalised and as such, another meeting of the Parliamentary Board was convened on Friday.
The meeting was attended by BJP National president JP Nadda, Manipur in-charges Bhupender Yadav, Sambit Patra and Ajay Jamwal along with other party leaders.During the meeting, no issues were re-ported for ACs with single intending can-didate and as such, the list for this group was finalised.
Additionally, the candidates for three constituencies, which could not be finalised owing to the number of candidates, were also settled.
Thus, the final list is likely to be announced on Saturday. It may be mentioned here Chief Minister N Biren Singh, BJP Manipur Pradesh pres-ident A Sharda Devi, and Works minister Th Biswa-jit had attended a meeting of the Parliamentary Board on January 25 .
During the meeting, the state election committee submitted three panel lists for constituencies with maximum BJP intending candidates and another two panel lists for constituen-cies with minimum intending candidates.
The trio returned to Imphal late evening on the same day.As the January 25 meeting failed to finalise the list of candidates, another meeting of the Parliamentary Board was convened on Friday. On the other hand, on re-ceiving reports that the list of the candidates would be announced at BJP Manipur Pradesh office, the state media had been trying to get in-formation of the same since Thursday.
The party ticket, which will be announced from the party's central of-fice, would be uploaded on the party's website.
Amidst this, many fake lists claiming to be the final list of BJP candidates are being circulated on social media platforms, adding to the confusion surrounding the issue of party tickets.
