Indefinite bandh in hills from today

Decrying alleged failure of the state and the Central government to book the killers, the Joint Action Committee (JAC) against the killing of S.Nabil village Chief Henkhothang Haokip has called an indefinite general strike in all the five hill districts of Manipur with effect from tomorrow.
The JAC has also instructed all the volunteers for taking up necessary measures to ensure the success of the strike.
Talking to newspersons in this connection at the office of Kuki Inpi, Churachandpur (KIC) at Tuibuong here today, Chairman of the JAC Hemkhomang asserted that the decision to impose indefinite bandh in the hill districts from tomorrow has been arrived at as no positive action have been taken up to arrest the killers even after serving various representations to the state Chief Minister, Deputy Commissioner, Churachandpur and the Indian Prime Minister apart from taking out mass protest rally.
Hemkhomang categorically stated that the state government would be held responsible for any untoward incidents arising out of the general strike being called.
