HSRP fixation made mandatory

Imphal, October 22 2013:
Making fixation of High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) mandatory for all the newly registered vehicles as well as already registered vehicles, the Transport Department, Government of Manipur revised the scheduled of conversion of already registered vehicles.
According to an order issued by Special Secretary (Transport M Lakshmikumar Singh, in respect of Bishnupur, the conversion for registration series MN05A, MN05B, MN05C, MN05 and all left over should be done during October 2013, November 2013, December 2013, January 2014 and February 2014 respectively.
For Imphal East, the conversion for registration series MN06L, MN06SA, MN06S and all left over should be done respectively during October 2013, November 2013, December 2013 and January 2014.For Thoubal, vehicles with registration series MN04A, MN04B, MN04D, MN04 and all left over should convert themselves during October 2013, November 2013, December 2013, January 2014 and February 2014 respectively.
In respect of Churachandpur, the conversion for registration series MN02, MN02A and all left over should be done during October 2013, November 2013 and December 2013 respectively.
For Kangpokpi, vehicles with registration series MN03 should convert during October 2013, MN03A during November 2013 and all left over during December 2013 .
For Senapati, the conversion in respect of registration series MN03P, MN03W, MN03S and all left over should be done during October 2013, November 2013, December 2013 and April 2014 respectively.
In respect of Ukhrul, the conversion of vehicles with registration series MN07D, MN07L, MN07S, MN07 and all left over should be done respectively during October 2013, November 2013, December 2013, January 2014 and February 2014 .
For Imphal East, conversion of registration series MN01Z, MN01D, MN01X and MN01W should be done during October 2013; MN01C, MN01Y, MN01K and MN01R during November 2013; MN01N, MN01Q, MN1K and MN01M during December 2013; MN01J, MN1M, MN1A and MN1H during January 2014, MN1E, MN1B, MNP, MN01 and MN1G during February 2014; MNA, MN01T, MNB, MNE and MNS during March 2014 and all left over during April 2014 .
The order has also made it clear that the defaulting vehicle owners could be booked under Section 39 of MV Act, 1988 with imposition of compound fees for the first offence or suspension or cancellation of the registration in subsequent offences under relevant sections of the same Act.
