With a view to provide basic health care in remote parts of Kakching district to the needy and socially deprived section of the society, Kakching Battalion of 28 Sector under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a free medical assessment camp in collaboration with SevaBharti andNational Medicos Organisation at Model High School, Pangaltabi in Kakching today.
A team of 27 doctors including nine specialist doctors conducted a free consultation and check up in Cardiology, Internal Medicines, Gynaecology, Urology, Paediatrics, ENT, Orthopedics, Neurology.
Special team of dental doctors carried out a comprehensive dental checkup.
In addition to this, free blood pressure check up, blood sugar check up and BMI check up was carried out to create awareness about diabetes and hypertension, which are the most worrisome health issues prevalent in the region.
Free medicines were also distributed to the patients.
A total of 513 patients were assessed, advised and counselled for various ailment.
The aim of the initiative is to provide free medical treatment and consultation to the remote villages of Kakching where requisite medical facilities are not available, said a statement of IGAR (S) .
