Imphal, October 17 2016:
Manipur Science and Technology Council (MASTEC) kicked off a four-week women EDP on fruits and vegetable processing and preservation at Food Processing Training Centre at Porompat.
The inaugural function was graced by MASTEC Director Th Surendranath, Associate Professor, Imphal College, L Somarjit Singh and Food Technologist M Tonjao Singh as chief guest, guest of honour and president respectively.
In the meantime, the ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Lamphelpat, under the supervision of the Directorate of Extension, Department of Agriculture and Farmer's Welfare, Government of India, inaugurated a seven-day training programme on 'Improving entrepreneurial skills farming community for income generation under different IFS model in NEH region' today.
Selected scientists and officials who have in-depth knowledge of the field will attend as resource persons in the week long training programme.
Altogether, 20 participants from different parts of the country are taking the model training course.
