The Khundongbam Brojendro Theatre Festival to be organized by Khungdongbam Brojendro Cultural Trust in collaboration with Art and Culture Department under the theme of 'Theatre for Peace and Friendship' will be held from January 18-24 at the newly inaugurated Maharaja Chandrakirti Auditorium but the closing ceremony cum prize distribution function of the festival would be held on January 28 at the same venue.
Announcing this during a a press meet at the office of Manipur Voluntary Health Association, Wangkhei, here yesterday, IS Kangjam informed that during the festival, 'Manlro' (Tangkhul dialect), a play by artistes of Ukhrul (Ringui Village) Zingko Repertory which is directed by Ashing Zimik and story written by MK Vaorei and Little Jasmine Bangalore's 'The Retreating World' (English dialect) directed by Kirtana Kumar and story by Naomi Wallace and Donald Margulies would be staged in the State and National section.
While in the international section, 'Arrriv Namar Lover', a play of Swe Mindamei Anu Pinya Aka Aphwet Yangon, Myanmar with direction by Daw Aye Aye Maw and story by U Shan Tun would be showcased.
Besides these plays, 'Hingminabei Mahut Siminaba' (Kabui dialect), a drama play of Luangdamei Art and Culture Academy Manipur story by Khundongbam Brojendro and directed by Star Kamei; 'Bor Interview' of Rup Mahal Theatre; 'MOC Assembly;' of Banian Repertory Theatre; 'Nainu Ama' of Manipur Dramatic Union and 'Angaobi Eigidi Imani' of Paradise Theatre Wangkhei would also be staged.
