Imphal, September 13 2011:
Yet another IED bomb exploded this morning at the ADC residential complex at Sangakpham Paomei Colony.
None was hurt in the incident.
The explosion took place this morning at around 5:45 am near the area adjoining the eastern wall and lavatory of the residential complex.
A crater of about 2 feet wide in diameter was created at the impact of the blast.
The tin roof of the lavatory's front part was ripped apart by the explosion.
This is the third time ADC members have been targeted.
The first incident took place at the ADC complex in Khuman Lampak on the 28th of May, injuring three innocent persons.
The bomb was planted in a Maruti car.
The second incident took place at Sangakpham bazaar on August 1.The incident led to the death of 5 persons including a school going girl and left another 8 critically injured.
In both the incidents none of the ADC members were hurt.
The state government held the NSCN (IM) responsible for the Sangakpham bazaar incident.
Condemning the barbarous act, Ringu, ADC member, Chandel told media persons that the state government has completely failed in safeguarding the lives of the innocent people in general and the ADC members in particular.
There have been various incidents where the lives of the ADC members have been threatened.
But still no security has been provided by the state to the ADC members.
If the government attitude remains the same and fails to safeguard the lives of the ADC members then the members who have been elected under the Constitution of India will be forced to resign.
Meanwhile, the Threatened Indigenous People's Society (TIPS) in a press release condemned the act and said that it is an act aimed at destroying the peaceful relationship among the various communities residing in the state.
