Imphal, December 12 2012:
Sadar Hills Women Union today has condemned the Koubru Leikha blast on Sunday in the strongest term.
Two BSF personnel were injured in the bomb blast and it occurred on the eve of the visit of Rahul Gandhi to Imphal.
Neinu Kipgen, said that the apparent objective of the blast at Koubru Leikha is to set back the peace progress which all concerned, particularly the women, have made in the area.
"It is obvious that these people do not mean well for the area and its unity and development," she added.
But the peaceful atmosphere and understanding of the people in the areas will not be weakened by such cowardly act, she asserted.
She further said that Sadar Hills women are peace loving people and only work for peace and harmony in the area.
"We are strongly against any activities which disturb peace.
The women of the area will not tolerate any such acts in the future," she warned.
She also said that the motive of the blast at Koubru Leikha might be to sabotage the peaceful understanding among the hill peoples of the State and derail the pipeline of peace.
It is the duty of the Government to protect the citizens from such violent attack, Neinu said.
Neinu also appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony and brace themselves to face the menace of any violence since uncountable numbers of selfish organizations or individuals are eying to disturb the peace of the area.
