Two fatalities- 120 new cases detected

Imphal, October 12 2021:
The state on Tuesday reported two new fatalities and 120 new positive cases out of 2317 samples, registering a positivity rate of 5.18 per cent against Monday's 5.85 per cent.
The active caseload came down to 1433 out of which 194 (13.54 per cent) are in home isolation, 368 (25.68 per cent) in CHICs, 536 (37.40 per cent) in CCCs and 335 (23.38 per cent) in hospitals.
Among the hospitalised patients, 76 are admitted in ICU/HDU wards, 71 are on oxygen support and 26 on ventilator support.
However, there is no report on number of patients on oxygen and ventilator support at JNIMS though it has 173 patients.
On the other hand, there are six patients on oxygen support in different CCCs.
As of Tuesday evening, 546 beds including 102 ICU/HDU beds in different hospitals.
There is no updated information on bed vacancy for other facilities but as of Monday evening 2636 beds were available in different Covid Care Centres and 427 beds (26 ICU/HDU) in district hospitals and CHCs.
So far, the state has recorded 92,828 positive cases and 1513 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month has recorded 1644 new cases and 32 fatalities out of which 925 new cases and 16 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 120 new positive cases included 119 persons (62 male & 57 female) from general population and one serving in Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (24), Imphal West (49), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (11), Kakching (1), Ukhrul (13), Churachandpur (5), Chandel (5), Senapati (1), Kamjong (4), Noney (2) and Pherzawl (2) .
All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The two death cases reported in the last 24 hours were from Imphal East and none of them had received Covid vaccines.
The cumulative number of deaths has reached 1887 .
In the last 24 hours, 118 persons were discharged from home isolation (40), RIMS (6),JNIMS (8) and CCCs (64).However, 274 already discharged persons were reported only on Tuesday and the total discharged cases in the last 24 hours calculated as 392.The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,22,228 (general population - 1,17,919 and CAPF personnel - 4,309) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,18,908 (general population - 1,14,624 and CAPF personnel - 4,284) and number of active cases is 1,433 (general population - 1,413 and CAPF personnel - 20) .
The recovery rate is 97.28 per cent.
On Monday, a total of 652 D-type and 174 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.
A total of 13,268 vaccine doses were administered on Monday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 12,32,338, including 5,53,936 fully vaccinated.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (42,382), Imphal East (27,029), Thoubal (9386), Churachandpur (10,094), Kangpokpi (2767), Tamenglong (3271), Bishnupur (9091), Senapati (2215), Ukhrul (2840), Kakching (6361), Chandel (2308), Noney (1066), Tengnoupal (1047), Jiribam (1020), Kamjong (888) and Pherzawl (463) .
Fatalities counts in different districts are Imphal West (628), Imphal East (446), Thoubal (172), Churachandpur (159), Kangpokpi (59), Tamenglong (13), Bishnupur (189), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (37), Kakching (110), Chandel (35), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 39,390 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,324 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,28,357 tests per million population against the national average of 4,18,689 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 2317 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 5.18 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 9.20 per cent.
