Imphal, September 11 2013:
Naga People's Front (NPF) is all set to field its candidate in the coming Lok Sabha election from the outer Manipur parliamentary constituency.
Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao in this regard, Athon Abomei, Secretary Organisation of NPF, Manipur State unit, informed that an election committee of the party will be formed very soon.
At present, seven candidates have come up as intending party candidates for the Lok Sabha election.
The party will decide to whom it will give the party's ticket after formation of the Ticket Committee.
He further stated that the party had always supported for a non-Congress common candidate.
But since the common candidate could not be made into a reality, NPF has finally come up with the decision to field its own candidate from the outer parliamentary constituency.
Since the party will not be fielding any candidates from the inner parliamentary constituency, it will support a candidate of a likeminded party, he added.
Abomei went on to state that with fielding one candidate from its side, there would be now altogether four candidates contesting in the outer parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha election.
Of the four candidates, two of them are Kukis and the other two are Nagas.
