A press release issued today by the general secre- tary (Organisation of NPP stated that the new State Government has taken up many ventures and works to improve the conditions of the State and to eliminate corruption, like setting up of an Anti Corruption Cell, and has even suspended some officials on alleged corruption charges, but the people will lose all trust in the State Government if it fails to uproot the rampant top level corruption from the State.
It alleged that State Government has failed to heed any of the appeals by the people regarding inconsistencies in the distribution of commodities under National
Food Security Act.
It alleged that the new State Government has always promised to take stringent actions against those involved in corruption, including its own Ministers, MLAs etc, and the people have always been complaining to the Chief Minister regarding the inconsistency of the distribution of PDS
items and the issue has even been brought up numerous times in the People's Day programme, but the Chief Minister has not taken up any steps to ease the suffering of the people even till now.
If the new State Government lives up to its promises and exercise power, taking into account the welfare of the people of the State, and perform its duties diligently, it will win the trust of the people, it added.
