Two die, one hurt in road mishap

Tamenglong, May 06 2013:
Two people were killed and another critically wounded when their vehicle plunged into a deep gorge in Awangkhul in Tamenglong district of Manipur in the early hours Monday.
The trio was destined for Rengpang in Tamenglong and they were riding a Bolero jeep which skidded off the hilly road on the way and fell into the deep gorge, killing the two and wounding the other critically.
The road mishap took place around 8:30 pm.
The wounded was taken to Shija Hospitals and Research Institute here.
The dead were identified as Albert Chiru aged 38, a resident of Bungte Chiru, presently staying at Chassad Avenue in Imphal and Assin Kabui aged 42, a resident of Rengpang.
Albert died on the spot while Assin succumbed at the private Shija.
Khukup Haokip aged 35, a resident of New Lambulane in Imphal is being treated at the hospital.
Nungba Police Station has started probing the incident.
